Environmental Services Capabilities
Iron Woman’s roots are in moving dirt, hazardous materials, and demolition debris. Some of our earliest projects at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Lowry Landfill, and Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Production Facility were all site closure projects on EPA Superfund properties that involved off-site transport of hazardous wastes. We are a full-service environmental and civil general contractor that self-performs demolition and site closure, environmental remediation and reclamation, mining services, and solid and hazardous waste transportation. Our field crews have experience with RCRA Subtitle C and D waste treatment and landfill operations, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste excavations, grade/fill excavations, cell placement, daily cover, dust and odor control, erosion and storm water control, drum handling, and facility maintenance.
Iron Woman has completed environmental remediation and heavy civil construction for Xcel Energy, Freeport McMoRan, Newmont Gold, Nevada Gold Mines, Denver Water, Quadrant Properties, and Cargill, to name a few.
Regulatory Expertise
Our team understands that a comprehensive understanding of the regulations is sometimes not enough. Regulations change constantly, and requirements for implementation can change from one regulator to the next. As a team, we pride ourselves on knowing the regulations, attending stakeholder meetings, and maintaining professional relationships with the regulating community to confirm that the work is always done in accordance with the current state and federal regulations. Iron Woman staff have experience with brownfields redevelopment; CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA regulations and permitting; litigation support and expert witness testimony on solid waste facilities and associated groundwater monitoring programs; design and management of various insitu and ex-situ chemical and biological remediation systems; hydraulic fracturing; and management and oversight of several $100M plus projects across the U.S.

Stream Restoration
Iron Woman recognizes that a resilient ecosystem is critical to the lasting sustainability of our communities’ natural resources. Our experienced environmental team has participated in numerous high-impact stream and channel restoration projects, such as the Lefthand Stream Restoration project and Pine Creek Channel Restoration. Our team understands not only the importance of time and budget, but also the community and environmental impact these projects have.
Accordingly, we have complied a team of construction and technical experts with years of experience in channel stabilization and restoration projects. Most notable are the Apple Valley North reach along the South Saint Vrain, Streamcrest, and Upper Lefthand reached of Lefthand Canyon Creek for which Iron Woman was awarded an Environmental Excellence Award by Colorado Contractors Association (CCA). Capabilities include stream stabilization, site dewatering, boulder drop structures, enhancement/ structural hill, grading and contouring, and soil lifts.
