Iron Woman completed pond construction, site finishing and foundations, and underground utilities. The work was required for the confidential client to comply with more stringent discharge requirements beginning in 2022. This project implemented a near zero liquid discharge solution to treat the plant’s process and storm water.

Iron Woman’s work included decommissioning two polishing ponds and hauling out an estimated 70,000 tons of waste material that was exported to a regional landfill. Iron Woman also installed five new ponds that required 100,000 CY of import material to be sourced and trucked onsite that was compacted to 95-98%. Each of the five ponds required four layers of liner materials, a geotextile fabric, geo net, and two different layers of HDPE geomembrane liners, totaling 300,000 SY of material installed.
