Cleveland Salt Mine

General contractor for construction, construction supervision, site layout, safety, and clean-up and disposal for the construction of nine bulkheads at an underground salt mine. Bulkhead construction included 2,000 to 2,300 cubic yards of continuously poured concrete, 2,000 feet underground and several miles under a lake. Iron Woman’s work on the $11 million project included all drilling and blasting, cutting and shaping of the bulkheads, pre-concrete floor grouting, concrete form work including installation and removal of forms, asphalt emulsion application, material handling and mix plant operation, and equipment supply.
