Iron Woman completed the soil salvage project as part of the Climax mine reclamation. The project involved excavation, haul, and stockpile management of 200,000 yards of heavy earth topsoil.

The project is located along the historic Highway 91 bypass along McNulty Gulch with an elevation of 11,200+ feet. As the mine continues to deposit waste rock, the implementation of a periodic soil salvage program is needed for future use as part of a site-wide reclamation project. The project involved phasing of two site locations. At each site, a stormwater management system was deployed before excavation began. Iron Woman then developed haul routes and sequencing for smooth traffic flow from the excavation site to the stockpile site. Once haul routes were complete, excavation began, removing excess topsoil and hauling it to designated on-site stockpile locations. Sites were regraded to bring remaining surfaces to final design elevations.
