Job Description:

Iron Woman is seeking experienced General Equipment Operators to operate various heavy equipment associated with remedial construction projects. The Operator must understand and demonstrate the safe operation of assigned equipment, work safely around additional equipment, and use judgment and experience to make rational and safe decisions within the purview of their assigned authority, all based on changing operation conditions.

Job Details:

Expected Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate and maneuver heavy equipment; understand safety requirements and expectations related to excavations, trenches, overhead hazards, other workers, falling objects, and uneven terrain
  • Read and interpret site-specific safety plan, MSDS, operator’s manual(s), grade stakes, maps, and drawings
  • Perform pre and post-equipment checks daily, documenting and reporting all issues to the supervisor
  • Receive and convey information between supervisors, clients, and co-workers – actively adjusting to changing instructions with ease
  • Perform all duties as assigned
  • Wear and work in differing types of PPE, as related to each job

Required Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Knowledge of machines, tools, and heavy equipment assigned
  • Must be a team player; able to work with a variety of individuals and effectively communicate with all team members, clients, and vendors
  • Must be physically able to perform the required job tasks
  • Must possess a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to attend and pass all required training

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

Iron Woman Employment Distinctions:

  • Must be able to pass a federal background check
  • Preferred OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER 40
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Have or manage dependable transportation (employees are expected to be on time)
