Iron Woman provided construction, construction supervision, site layout, safety, and clean-up and disposal for the construction of nine bulkheads at the Cleveland Salt Mine. Bulkhead construction included 1,800 – 2,000 cubic yards of continuously-poured concrete several miles under Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. Iron Woman’s work on the $7.5 million project included all cutting and shaping of the bulkheads, pre-concrete floor grouting, concrete form work including installation and removal of forms, asphalt emulsion application, material handling and mix plant operation, and equipment supply.
