A Note From Our Founder
For more than 20 years, Iron Woman Construction and Environmental Services has been an industry leader in the metro-area Denver construction and environmental services sector. We provide full service turn-key operations for all phases of public and private construction, as well as for governmental and environmental clients.
But our success is much more than a list of services provided. At its heart, Iron Woman values a balance between home, work, and our community, both with our employees as well as with our customers. The two areas are not mutually exclusive. Our pledge is still the same as when I started this company, “Iron Woman…building today for a sustainable tomorrow.”

Our Team

President and CEO
Shaun S. Egan
Shaun has been an executive and owner in the transportation, logistics, materials management, and the construction business for almost 20 years. He is the President and CEO of Iron Woman, a multi-dimensional construction company with over 200 pieces of equipment, including a fleet of more than 100 trucks and trailers, and 240 employees including 15 utility, civil, and environmental crews. As the owner of Iron Woman, Shaun stresses the importance of core values and has fostered a culture where employees are the most important asset and customer service is one of its overarching business principles. Under his guidance, Iron Woman has a proven track record and is an industry leader in safety. Iron Woman’s mantra is, “Safety, Quality, and Production.”
Shaun’s work at Iron Woman includes project, program, and division management; policy development; creation of public-private partnerships; and sustainable redevelopment. Projects encompass environmental remediation, waste stream characterization, pollution prevention and recycling, technology innovation and transfers, and multi-million-dollar economic redevelopment. Throughout his career, he has championed responsible stewardship of natural resources locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. He accomplished this by accessing internal company resources, growing business capacity or creating partnerships.
In a prior life, Shaun worked in Washington, D.C., first as a staff member to Senator Max Baucus responsible for legislation in the Environment and Public Works Committee, and then as a lobbyist for the Western Regional Council representing natural resources, financial, and energy production and distribution companies headquartered throughout 17 western states. In addition to working on Capitol Hill and a short stint at the Environmental Protection Agency, Shaun has owned a number of successful businesses including, Western Environmental Services and Technologies (WEST) International, Western States’ Oilfield Services, Iron Woman Express Roll-Off, and Big Sky Commercial Properties.

COO
Steve Burns
Steve has an extensive background in operational excellence working in organizations from Fortune 100 to startups. As the Chief Operations Officer, he oversees the support services side of the Iron Woman family of companies, including accounting, human resources, and overall daily administrative operations. His pragmatic approach to problem solving results in a sustainable business model with viable growth paths. Steve’s work at Iron Woman also includes policy development, project and program management, as well as division oversight and guidance. He maintains a vigilant eye on the bottom line, focusing always on optimum profitability. As a result, Iron Woman, without benefit of a controller, completed a grueling, first-ever audit with only minor adjustments.

VP of Operations
Loni Jones
Loni is a self-motivated professional who has successfully led Iron Woman’s Utilities team in delivering a wide range of highly visible landmark projects in the Colorado Front-Range region. He has more than twenty years of experience on civil construction projects ranging from large conduit installations for municipal water systems to private development utility construction with values from $250,000 to over $25,000,000. Loni provides divisional oversight to drive profitability to the bottom line by delivering safe, high quality projects. He has spearheaded the successful completion of projects in the federal, municipal, and private sector that supports expansion in infrastructure (highways, rail, and airport), residential development (including mixed use and brownfield redevelopment), commercial, and retail development.

Vice President
Carl Crews
Carl is a highly knowledgeable and results-driven environmental engineer with 30+ years of experience optimizing project methods and enhancing compliance, safety, and financial performance. He is an accomplished professional with ability to identify complex environmental issues and develop innovative solutions that align with client goals and needs. He has exceptional public and interpersonal communication skills which allow him to interface effectively with clients, government entities, community members, and project staff on all levels. Carl has successfully supervised multiple projects and personnel within stringent deadlines to achieve optimal results and drive continued progress. He provides project support for the Iron Woman team to ensure that projects are successfully executed and delivered on-schedule and on-budget.

Vice President
Maggie Nichols
Maggie Nichols leads Iron Woman’s Trucking Division and was one of Iron Woman’s first employees. She started at Iron Woman in 2004 and quickly became the company’s resident expert in Department of Transportation compliance and regulations. She assisted in helping the company establish processes and procedures associated with all DOT requirements. As Vice President of Trucking, Maggie’s focus is on finance and accounting, oversight of trucking managers, safety and inspiring drivers to be leaders in safety, and recruiting and retention.

Vice President
Ken Puttman
As the Vice President of Asset Management at Iron Woman, Ken Puttmann ensures that Iron Woman operates at the lowest operating costs while extracting optimum usage and availability of Iron Woman’s equipment. His responsibilities include logistics management, life cycle costing, and extensive maintenance and repair strategies that reduce downtime. Ken started with Iron Woman in 2017 and brings more than 40 years of experience to the company. Heavy equipment has been his focus since the beginning, working his way through the ranks at a Caterpillar dealership from technician to general manager. He also added equipment management at a John Deere dealership and an executive role at a track mounted crushing equipment manufacturer along the way.

Vice President
Tony Curcio
Tony is a vice president with Iron Woman focusing on strategy and business development. He started his career in engineering before gradually moving to more construction-related projects, and eventually joining Iron Woman in 2015. His work now includes brownfield and greenfield development, design and construction, but he still has a soft spot in his heart for any complex infill development. His work combines his love of design and construction with his passion for community development. A Highlands resident of 20 years, he is committed to education and supporting our public schools. A Leadership Denver alum, he looks forward to any opportunity to learn and contribute to the community, bringing his family to any volunteer event. A father of three teenagers, Tony looks forward to a day with less eye-rolling.

Vice President
Doug Petty
Doug Petty has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and business development for engineering and construction companies throughout the United States. Prior to joining Iron Woman in 2017, he served in various consulting and senior management positions for firms ranging in size from ENR top 10 to smaller, regional specialty contractors. Doug’s expertise includes firm management, strategic and marketing planning, presentation strategies and coaching, conference and trade show management, and proposal development. Doug’s primary goal in life is to interpret everything Tony says.

Controller
Matt Griffin
Matt joined Iron Woman in the fall of 2018 as Controller and is responsible for all things accounting, finance, and risk management. Matt has over 20 years of hands on financial management and business leadership most recently in Houston, Texas. He oversees the preparation of various company financial statements, manages federal and state compliance programs and ensures personnel are trained and systems are compliant for various audits. Matt is committed to team-driven process improvements, growth of individuals as an active coach and mentor, and being a true Business Partner with Operations as well as those in Executive Management.

Director of Environmental and Remediation Services
Vince Barlock
Mr. Barlock is the Director of Environmental & Remediation Services for Iron Woman. As a registered Professional Geologist with over 35 years of professional consulting and management experience in the environmental arena and construction design-build remediation, he provides executive-level management and hydrogeologic technical expertise and oversight for Iron Woman’s Environmental & Remediation projects. As Director, he has direct responsibility for the development, design, marketing and research, and expansion of their nation-wide Environmental and Oil & Gas construction remediation programs. Additionally, his experience covers the full spectrum of environmental and hydrogeologic services: remediation, site characterization, geotechnical, laboratory, hazardous waste, engineering, permitting, technical writing, in-situ Chemox/Redox technologies & remedial construction.

Director of Human Resources
Keith Gaertner
Keith is the Director of Human Resources at Iron Woman and is a senior member of the Executive team. His umbrella of responsibility includes talent acquisition, benefits, and overseeing safety. He also provides overall leadership and guidance to the organization around policy development, compliance, employee relations, risk management and compensation. With over 20 years of human resource experience, Keith is a true HR generalist with a passion for human capital and its impact on a business’s bottom line success. He has held leadership positions at Concrete Express, Inc., PTI Group USA/Civeo, and Nelson Pipeline, as well as a diverse background in various fields including manufacturing and civil engineering.

Director of Corporate Strategy & Development
Clare White
Clare White, Director of Corporate Strategy & Development, supports execution of Iron Woman’s long-term strategic roadmap, oversees the corporate governance program, and manages corporate programs which impact the overall organizational structure. She assists with analysis and integration of M&A activities, real estate development, and captives. Prior to re-entering the construction world, Clare was a financial market analyst providing traders with insights on economic trends, market structure, and daily market movement.

Director of Safety
Perry Silvey
Perry Silvey’s career in construction began as a general laborer and he has risen through the ranks in the sitework business as an equipment operator, estimator, project manager, and ultimately finding great reward as a safety professional. He has formally been in a safety role since 2012 and continues to support employee development and education at all levels of the organization in his position as the Director of Health and Safety. He obtained his Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification authorized by The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) and currently holds the OSHA #500 Authorized Construction Outreach Trainer certification. Perry held the Co-Chair and Chair role for the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Colorado Safety Council and is a Contractor Director for the National Utility Contractor’s Association (NUCA) Colorado Chapter. For the past several years, Perry has facilitated a monthly safety roundtable through NUCA of Colorado.

Chief Estimator
Justin Moore
Justin Moore has more than 17 years of civil construction experience that includes 4-inch to 54-inch PVC and DIP waterline construction, 4-inch to 12-inch sanitary mains including lift stations and force mains, and storm sewer construction up to 84-inch box culvert. Project values range from $50,000 to over $4,000,000. Justin’s responsibilities include maintaining client relationships, contract agreements and negotiations, cost management, project cost forecasting and tracking, site project management, personnel and equipment management, subcontractor management, and company safety program overview.

General Superintendent
Shane Jones
As Iron Woman’s General Superintendent, Shane manages all aspects of the field with a safety-first approach. He oversees more than 250 field employees, a majority of whom have been with Iron Woman for 10 plus years, a testament to Shane’s management philosophy of building an organization from within. He has more than 20 years of civil construction experience that has included some of the most visible projects on the Front Range, including Denver Union Station, RTD’s West Corridor, the Eagle P3 East Corridor, and the 27th Street Storm Interceptor in downtown Denver. He specializes in unique utility installations with high degrees of difficulty (groundwater, working around high-profile existing utilities) that includes large boulder structures, underground detention facilities, and large water conduit installations. He has managed field crews for land reclamation and all phases of utility projects including deep digs up to 40 feet and pipe projects ranging from small conduit runs to 96-inch storm pipe, including large box culvert sets. Shane’s experience on several design build projects makes him a key contributor to our pre-construction team with a unique value engineering prospective.

Director of Project Controls
Andrew Bachman
Andrew has over 23 years of combined field and office experience providing comprehensive management and organizational skills necessary to complete the planning and implementation of both small and large projects. His proactive approach in management style provides leadership and support to project teams. He has diverse construction experience in heavy civil, environmental, mining, commercial and retail general construction practices and procedures. He is knowledgeable in engineering design, hard dollar cost estimating, construction and project management, project controls and contract administration.

Senior Project Manager
Mike Metheney
With more than 30 years of civil construction experience, Mike is Iron Woman’s most senior project manager. His project experience ranges from small PVC waterline installations to large steel waterline installation that range in value from $50,000 to over $30,000,000. Scopes of work have included 4-inch to 18-inch sanitary mains including lift stations and force mains, 4-inch to 54-inch PVC, DIP and steel waterline construction and storm sewer construction up to 84-inch box culvert. As project manager, Mike is responsible for maintaining client relationships; contract agreements and negotiations; cost management, including forecasting and tracking; site project management; personnel and equipment management; subcontractor management; and safety program overview.

Sr. Mine Ops Manager
Jim Allred
Jimmy Allred is a results-driven construction manager with 30 years of experience in industrial and mining construction, including 19 years overseeing all phases of multimillion-dollar construction, infrastructure, and environmental projects. He has a proven history of concurrently directing multiple projects to successful completion through effective management and team collaboration with attention to schedule and budget. He possesses strong leadership skills with a reputation for creative problem solving and team building and has a track record for minimizing costs and maximizing productivity. His experience in the mining and construction industry includes directing construction teams and subcontractors, and collaborating with engineers, inspectors, management and other stakeholders to address and resolve issues and achieve project goals.

Senior Project Manager
John Trujillo
John Trujillo, Senior Project Manager and Program Manager of Iron Woman’s Mining Division, has been with the company for two years. John played an integral role in developing Iron Woman Mining Services and Iron Woman Construction’s River Restoration Program. John has over 25 years of experience in multiple aspects of vertical, civil and environmental construction of which 10 years was focused in mining development and infrastructure. As Senior Project Manager and Program Manager, John’s focus is on safety, finance and accounting, oversight and mentoring of project managers, operational efficiency and development of the Iron Woman Mining Services. He is a 5th generation Colorado native and comes from a long lineage of mining professionals.

Senior Trucking Estimator
Mark Devencenty
Mark Devencenty is a logistics and transportation professional who supports trucking operations for Iron Woman, including a fleet of more than 100 pieces of rolling stock that supports both internal and external customers. His knowledge and experience include material life cycle analysis that leads to cost savings for Iron Woman’s clients. Mark’s focus on forward-looking solutions translates into long-term partnerships rather than traditional client-vendor relationships with our customers.

Trucking Operations Manager
Omar Moreno
Omar Moreno has more than 10 years of experience in the transportation industry in a position with progressive responsibility. Omar manages an Iron Woman-owned fleet of 40+ trucks and manages and implements an independent contractor’s program for a fleet of more than 100 trucks. As the trucking operations manager for Iron Woman, he oversees the implementation of efficient operations while retaining quality standards, enforces job site safety, prepares estimates for transportation projects, and develops key performance indicators to ensure quality. He is proficient in FMCSR regulations and implementation, is a solid problem-solver, and possesses strong communication and organizational skills.

Customer Relations
Tom White
Tom White recently celebrated his 10-year anniversary with Iron Woman. He left the banking industry as an Executive Loan Officer and entered the environmental field in 1983, working for a unique non-hazardous industrial waste facility. After starting and later selling his own railcar cleaning company, Tom then entered the hazardous waste arena, working for Safety Kleen/Clean Harbors, the largest hazardous waste disposal company in the US. Tom wears various hats at Iron Woman: customer service and hospitality, waste profiling and manifesting, regulatory compliance, project management, and business development. He is a golf teaching professional, a high school golf coach and is a Part 107 certified drone pilot.

Environmental Scientist
Andrew Umyn
Andrew Umyn, Environmental Scientist/ Project Manager, was the second employee of Iron Woman’s Civil, Mining, and Environmental Group. He is a registered Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) and also currently holds licenses/ certificates as: Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) with the Division of Oil and Public Safety (OPS), Certified Erosion Control Supervisor (CETS) with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Certified Asbestos Building Inspector (CABI) with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. He has over 15 years’ experience in the environmental consulting field with focuses in environmental assessment, compliance and remediation.

Project Manager
Chris Tiritas
Chris “The Big Greek” Tiritas is by far largest employee at Iron Woman, perhaps even in the entire construction industry! He’s entering his third year as a project manager at Iron Woman, where his role is to fiscally and organizationally manage projects from inception to closeout while building relationships and leading by example. Chris has been in the construction industry for more than 15 years in various roles beginning as a laborer on a framing crew during the summers in college to building virtual models for one of the largest GC’s in North America. Chris coaches in his free time and believes that teamwork is the most successful way to accomplish his goals.

Project Manager
Kris Lovegrove
Kris Lovegrove is a project manager for Iron Woman’s Utility Division and has been in the utility industry for more than 25 years. She started as an assistant project manager and became the go-to person for the PMs and field personnel. She assisted in the setting up of job costing and accounting procedures for the Utility Division. Kris began her career with Iron Woman in 2012 and was recently promoted to a project manager in early 2018.

Assistant Project Manager
Marlyce Castilleja
Marlyce “M” Castilleja is the lead assistant project manager for Iron Woman’s Utilities Division. She started with Iron Woman in 2016 and provides support to the PMs on all aspects of project controls to meet the project requirements. She has been in construction since 1992, held a “Q” clearance with DOE and worked on several DOE/DOD sites.

Nicole Bullock
Nicole Bullock, Assistant Project Manager of Iron Woman’s Civil, Mining & Environmental Division, started Iron Woman in April 2018 and has assisted in streamlining the process for the CME Group. She works with the project managers and the accounting department to help assure project costs are all captured and reported correctly.

Ashleigh Mientkewicz
Ashleigh Mientkewicz started with Iron Woman in 2016 as an office administrator and became Assistant Project Manager for the Trucking Division in 2019. She has a degree in Business Management from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Ashleigh assists her team in daily operations, helps assure costs and revenues are captured correctly, and that Iron Woman’s commercial drivers’ files are up to date and within FMCSR regulations.

Project Manager
John Ford
John is an Iron Woman project manager with a degree in Construction and Business Management from Boise State University (2009). Prior to attending college John started in the construction industry as a craft employee and worked his way up to foreman running concrete, railroad, framing and general labor crews. Some of John’s notable projects include the Interstate 405 expansion (1.25B), and Denver Union Station (360M). Currently John manages construction projects for Iron Woman that range from $300,000 to $13,000,000 handling the safety planning, logistical, and financial portions of the project. He values safety, quality and customer relations above all else, and strives to complete projects on time with minimal issues.

Assistant Project Manager
Lindsy Lovato
Lindsy has is degree in Psychology & Justice Systems from Truman State University, graduating class of 2000. After graduating from college, she pursued her degree working with juvenile delinquents, managing their cases to help them transition from the system into becoming successful adults. After needing a change in pace, she transitioned into the construction world in 2007 and worked first for Lafarge and then Martin Marietta as an aggregate outside sales representative. In 2018, she made the change to Iron Woman working as an assistant project manager for the Civil division.

Estimator/Project Manager
Travis Wiens
Travis serves two roles for Iron Woman – estimator and project manager. He is a Colorado native and grew up in Boulder, attending and graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering and Construction Management. After graduation he worked for a while in construction, but then decided to move to Hawaii to pursue his dream of obtaining his private pilot license and exploring all the Hawaiian Islands have to offer. While in Hawaii he worked for the Kiewit Building Group, and eventually transferred with them to Long Beach, California, where he worked as the pre-engineered metal building superintendent on the Haynes Repowering Project for LADWP. Travis eventually made his way back to Denver and joined the Iron Woman team in May of 2017, working on a varying array of projects.
